Help Feed the Needy by Eating Authentic Thai Curry. National Curry Week 21st - 27th November

Delicious, wholesome food is something the Thai Curry Company is passionate about. That's why the Chantra Thai range of authentic Thai food was created. But there are many people for whom the idea of rustling up a tasty meal or snack whenever they want it is a distant dream. 1 in 7 people world wide do not have access to enough food to keep them healthy and around 624,000 children die every year due to malnutrition. It's not just developing countries at the other end of the world though. There are around 4 million people in the UK who don't have access to adequate nutrition.

The Thai Curry Company is delighted to be involved with National Curry Week 2010. They are pledging to donate 1/2 kilogram of rice to Fare Share, a charity which provides emergency food to the vulnerable and needy in the UK, for every curry kit we sell during National Curry Week along with a cash donation of 10p to The Curry Tree Charity.

Joe White, founder and managing director, commented:
"There are close to 1 billion people in the world who can't afford to eat enough to sustain themselves. We're hoping to be able to help in whatever way we can and make this a regular commitment for us."

The Thai Curry Company Launches Chantra Authentic Thai Curry Kits with Nisa Today's.

August sees the arrival of Chantra Authentic Thai Red and Green Curry Kits with Nisa Today's.

Chantra Thai Curry Kits are a revolution in Thai cooking. All the ingredients needed to create a perfect Thai curry are included in the kit, with customers only having to add fresh meat and vegetables of their choice. The end product takes just 12 1/2 minutes to cook and is every bit as good as Thai food from restaurants and indeed, Thai food from Thailand. The curries remain true to the original, fiery taste that real Thai food is famous for and will appeal to anyone who has experienced Thai food in Thailand or a good Thai restaurant.

Recent trends in the grocery market have seen customers becoming busier, with the convenience sector benefitting the most as time-short customers make use of their neighbourhood stores for increasingly more than just 'top-up' products. Chantra Curry Kits are ideal for those customers who want more than just a cook-in sauce, but don't have time to cook from scratch.

"We created this product to fill the gap for truly authentic Thai Food." states Managing Director Joe White, "While there is a lot of Thai food around, our research shows that the vast majority of it falls short of customers expectations. Almost 1 million people visit Thailand from the UK every year, and the UK is becoming increasingly knowledgeable about 'real' Thai food."

To support the launch with Nisa Today's, Chantra Thai Curry Kits will be available at a promotional '£1 off' price during August and September with a re-run of the promotion in October and November. This will also be supported with a national PR led marketing campaign to generate customer interest.

The Thai Curry Company was founded by Joe White in 2008 with help from his wife Cherry, a Thai doctor. All of the Thai Curry Company's products are developed and manufactured in Thailand to give the most authentic Thai cuisine possible.

Since being launched in 2008, The Thai Curry Company has expanded and, in addition to the two original boxed Red and Green curry kits, now offers a range of white jasmine rice, red Thai rice sourced from the family rice mill in the fertile north of Thailand and a range of Thai herbs enabling the more adventurous cook to produce authentic Thai dishes at home.

More products are on the way in 2010, including an authentic Massaman curry kit, and a greater range of herbs and quality curry pastes.

A Sheffield chemistry graduate, Joe White and his Thai wife, Cherry, started the company confident that the well travelled British public, many of whom have a soft spot for all things Thai, wanted to continue experiencing the real taste of Thailand when back home.

"It's a well kept secret that authentic Thai food is incredibly quick and easy to prepare. It's a delicious, wholesome and healthy 'fast food'. The ingredients we provide in the kits recreate exactly a Thai meal as eaten in Thailand. It's the real thing!"

Joe, originally from Durham, and Cherry are based in Bangkok and, as both are fluent Thai speakers, are able to source the best and most authentic products available.

The full range of products sold under the name of Chantra Authentic Thai, are widely available on the shelves of hundreds of independent shops throughout the U.K.
